Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand | DW Documentary
Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok, is unique. This film reveals the best spots: well-known locations, and places off the beaten track. Our report provides a detailed guide to Asia’s most exciting city. For transportation, visitors and local residents alike can choose from motorized rickshaws, taxis, subways, or the sky train. There are also express boats that ply the Chao Phraya River -- plus long-tail boats, and vessels that make their way through the city's khlongs, or canals. This journey of discovery takes us to the places where Bangkok residents go to rest and relax -- like the island of Ko Samet in the Gulf of Thailand. This is the capital's version of Wannsee Lake in Berlin. You can book a river cruise, or visit one of the trendy open-air bars perched atop high-rise buildings. A lot of younger Bangkok residents have taken up a bold challenge in this car-friendly city: they've switched to bicycles. Many locals enjoy making a bike visit to the village-like central district, near a big bend in the river -- even when the temperature rises above 30-degrees centigrade. On the islands off the coast, there's plenty of sunshine, beautiful beaches, and clear, warm water -- a mix that attracts crowds of Bangkok residents on weekends.

Chiang Mai
With beautiful nature blended with Lanna Culture and colours of contemporary perfectly Chiang Mai is, therefore, a province that has many tourists, both Thai and foreigners, come in many millions each year. Popular tourist activities in Chiang Mai include worshipping the Phra That doi suthep, which is an important Landmark of Chiang Mai people. Experience the local way of life and shop for stylish handmade products at Thapae Walking Street. Visit various species of plants at the Queen Sirikit botanical Garden and Rajapruek Royal Park. Do not miss to shop art products, taste local CUISINE and see cultures on Nimmanhaemin Road. In addition, nature and mountain tours are another activity that should not be missed when visiting Chiang Mai, whether stepping on the highest point of Thailand at the top of doi inthanon. Absorb the beauty of the rice fields, feel the Cool breeze while watching the giant tiger flower at Doi Ang Khang. Experience Ecotourism HomeStay in Mae Kampong and visit Hmong villages in Doi Pui and many more.

Thailand's Best FLOATING MARKET with Mark Wiens!
Have you ever heard of a floating market before? If not, you're in for a real treat (literally, wait until you see how much we ate)! In Thailand, some markets are 'floating' -- meaning they function entirely on narrow canals with small boats moving up and down . You pay a small price to hire a boat driver for an hour (or longer), and then choose which delicious meals to eat from dozens of vendors (on boats) with elderly women cooking up something unique. It's all cheap and delicious and this is debatably the best experience you can have in Thailand. This morning, my buddy Mark Wiens from Migrationology and I headed 2 hours outside of Bangkok to a floating market called Damnoen Saduak, where he introduced me to some of Thailand's best dishes. We had a blast shooting this video and I hope you enjoy what we have to share!
