Since 1988, Out On Screen has illuminated, celebrated, and advanced queer lives through film, education, and dialogue. We are among the leaders in Canada working to create a society free of homophobia and transphobia where gender and sexual diversity are embraced. We are honoured to celebrate the unique, strong, and splendid Vancouver queer and trans communities that make us who we are. One of the ways we fulfill this mission is through our Out in Schools program. Out In Schools is an award-winning educational initiative that combats homophobia, transphobia, and bullying in schools across BC. Using queer, trans, and two-spirit films, personal stories, and facilitated discussion, Out In Schools brings the lived LGBT2Q+ experience into the classroom to equip youth with an understanding of sexual and gender diversity and to foster empathy and acceptance for LGBT2Q+ people.
